SMTA governor to throttle shaft binding

Had to put a new needle & seat in the SMTA, &
after re-installing the carb, the governor action
is sluggish.
I am guessing that there is binding inside of the
pipe that goes from the gov. to the carb.
I believe I got that pipe on correctly with the
4 screws [2 on each end].

Any advice on checking for finding where it might
be causing trouble??

Thanks.

Ran into similar issues with my Super M; also a friend's 400. Solution was this:

First loosen all 4 of the tube clamp screws 2 or 3 turns. Now wiggle the tube around at both ends then let it rest where it wants. Finally carefully and evenly retighten the 4 screws.

This of course assumes you have the tang at the end of the governor throttle shaft properly engaged into the slot of the carb throttle shaft!

Thanks, Bob.
Yes, the tang is where it should be on the
carb. Didn't get it right though on the first
go-around. Started it up & wide open.
I was prepared, though & shut her down fast.

Lighting wasn't too good going together the
first time, but got more light the second time,
& all is as should be.
