The machine shop pulled the timing gear off the Farmall Super A crankshaft so they could turn the rod and main journals. So now I need to press the timing gear back onto the crankshaft.
So do I just lower the support in the hydraulic press and stand the crankshaft on end and press the timing gear onto the crankshaft?
Or do you support crankshaft at number 1 crank journal and then use read on timing gear?
Do you heat the timing gear before pressing on?
How do you make sure timing gear is aligned with the woodruff key on the crankshaft?
