Farmall M Clutch issues

I posted a while back about my tractor jerking in reverse but
the more I drive it it?s jerking in all gears I got a new throwout
bearing pilot bearing in the Flywheel and I got the Flywheel
resurfaced. I replaced the rubber washers on the driveshaft
coupling as well. I can feel the clutch jerking in my foot. No
matter how slow I let the clutch out it does it and if I let the
clutch out and when it starts jerking I can hold it there and it
just keeps on jerking I wonder if it?s a bad bearing or
something I thought maybe it needed to get broke it but I?ve
put some hours on it now and it?s still doing it.

Something is 'warped' Either the flywheel, the pressure plate,Disk,or all/ Did you recently replace the clutch? did you surface the flywheel?Or is there grease on the fiber disk?any or all can cause jerking.

Did you replace the clutch plate, and pressure plate?? Hard to believe you would of been into it that far without checking these things out. But it sounds like to me, the clutch plate only grabbing on one side, or pressure plate is warped. I'm not saying it couldn't be something else like transmission input shaft bearings, or rear main engine bearing, but still a problem with the clutch would be my guess.

You didn't by chance get a bad job done on the flywheel resurfacing?? Ended up not being true after the job was done?

Yeah the clutch plate and pressure plate are new as well along with the input bearing. I?m not sure on the Flywheel I hope it was true but it seems like that could cause this issue

I am trying to think and can't remember, but I am wondering if the pressure on pressure plate is adjustable. I am thinking it might be, but not sure. If so, the pressure on pressure plate not adjusted evenly might create this problem. If you still have the old one laying around, you could look at it and see if there is any pressure adjustment bolts. Because if there is, these would have to be adjusted evenly. Just a thought.

Pressure plate fingers are often adjustable The issue is that the pivot points can be worn, or the fingers can be mis-adjusted from the factory. They must be adjusted when installed on the tractor. Each lever should be tensioned slightly toward the flywheel to assure the clearance is taken out of its pivot, then measured to the center of the driven disk. If they are all equal, things are good. if not adjustment till equal is needed. Jim
