cyclo 400 planter parts

We have an old cyclo 400 4row planter my son uses to plant soybeans. I know they are not the best but it was cheap and he only plants about 15 acres. He plants it once and then goes back and plants it again inbetween the other rows. We want to convert it to 6 row since it already has 6 ports on the blower. We found 3 more planters for parts really cheap to get the other row units and parts we need. The problem is one of these planters has seed depth wheels right along side of the openers. Most of these did not have these. They relied on the packer wheels to set the depth. I would really like to find 2 more of the gauge wheel setups so we will have six. Does anyone know where we could get 2 more of the gauge wheels setups? Also one of the planters had no till coulters up front but again we only have 4 but need 6.

No I will have to get you a picture. The row unit looks real similar to the units on the other planters but they added depth wheels to it. It was either an option on the later ones or there was an aftermarket company that made the depth wheels. They just look like the depth wheels on a cultivator. I seen another cyclo 400 that had them at an auction. It brought pretty good money though.

Those gauge wheel set-ups were a later option called "Posi-depth".

There were aftermarket types as well. There were aftermarket ones for 56/58 series planters too.

You will most likely have to find another scrap one to acquire the brackets. Usually guys that have those, tend to use their planter.

I do believe that the wheels themselves ARE the same as the cultivator gauge wheels.

Not sure where you are located, but this auction ends tomorrow - has the gauge wheels.

That one looks just like the last one we got. That would be a little far for us. We live in Ohio. The one that we got that has the gauge wheels, we got for free and it even has a monitor that works. The fertilizer drops are rusted off though.

Try Joe kolesar in KS I used to have a number for him till my phone broke. Joe deals in used IH tractors. He also collects the MFWD models with original MFWD axles in them. His dad has a used planter parts sales and they all farm. North eastern KS south of US-36 Somewhere near Seneca or Onaga KS if I remember right.
