Is this carb put together correctly from
the outside view? Looks different from
some 15 30 carbs ive seen. Previous owner
said it had been gone thru, runs like
crap at idle and when you open it up
sounds like lack for fuel.. adjustment on
the top does nothing to help.. will be
taking it apart soon. Opinions greatly
needed and appreciated

Only thing I know is when they tell you "its been gone through..." the alarm bells ought to ring ?.

its a 22-36 carb. 15-30 never had that bottom section. need a better explanation than "runs like crap". that top adjustment is your main jet adjustment out, for richer.

Rough idle and when opening up cuts out as if fuel starvation. Adjustment at top does not help either

is the fuel getting into the float bowl? need to check to make sure you have fuel running into the carb.you need to check these things out then post.

I would sure take it apart and check all passages, the float level may be set wrong also.
Pay no attention to the lower bowl as that is the water injection bowl for running on
kerosene.

I have a very similar issue with mine. Long story short, I picked mine up at an auction and it was restored. well thats a very loose term. Only one of the two carbs was hooked up and from what I know one was for kerosene and one for diesel. But I dont know which is which. Just purely guessing at this point that the smaller one of for the gasoline and the bigger is for kerosene. Only tried running on gas because they had everything all unhooked and it was a mess. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
