From posts on here (no personal knowledge) they can slip when in working condition under tillage loads. If pulling is the only use it will get, and fast/reasonable is needed, screwing the plates into a solid mass using drill and tap for 1/4 20 threaded rod in about 5 places around the stack of plates would be sure to prevent slippage. But if time is not an issue someone would like to have that setup, and trade you for the parts. Maybe Bates Equipment Bourbon Indiana would do it ! Jim

myself I think they are useless for pulling. I have a Minneapolis U that I tryed in the pulls with that semi live pto thing. and it started slipping. need a direct clutch on pulling tractors. im going to pull mine apart and check the adjustment on it.

I tried to pull my M with the M+W hand clutch and was never able to get it to not slip under HEAVY loads. I guess maybe a stock engine might not slip it, but a M+W cant hold a juiced up engine. Al
