666 fuel filters

I want to change the fuel filters in my diesel 666. Here on YT, for a 666, it only lists inline filters as parts for it, but the tractor has the big screw on, oil filter type, ones. So I finally found a website that has the correct ones. Where is your favorite place to buy parts?

deltared, thanks. I could try Napa. 45 minute drive each way though. I went to the local tractor shop, thinking that's where I'd buy all these filters and things I want to replace, and guess what, they claimed they didn't have any of them! Didn't offer to order for me or anything. So if they don't have anything, I was hesitant to make the trip to check Napa or anywhere else around here. I could call and ask first, what they have. Going to see what else this Elmer's website has first.

I have 4 06/56 series tractors, and several H,M,400,and others. I buy all my filters from NAPA,they're made by WIX.If they don't have it in stock, they can have it next day, frieght free.Order a full set(oil, fuel, hydrailic).Every spring, they have a huge filter sale.50%(or more) off.I buy one filter change for each of my tractors, combines, cars, trucks, etc. Saves me a huge amount of money. It pays to shop local!

Delta I wish I could say the same for the napa here in town. I won't even grace their door with my shadow they are such. We have a local place that handles Baldwin filters I get most of our filters from.
Cross for Baldwin according to the Baldwin site is IH A184773 TO Baldwin BF979 The A184773 subs over to a 84565905 on CaseIH site. Though had to use the old number for the Baldwin cross over IH A184774 To Baldwin BF588
So now have a few choices for filters and numbers to work with.

I just get all of my filters at the IH dealer. I take all of the numbers in and they pull them all out. These are filters from an H, 2 656's, 1 gear drive and 1 hydro, 666 and 856. They even have the filter for the M&W turbo on the 856. Doesn't matter if oil, air or fuel filters. They have them all in stock.

I tried NAPA for filters. Even had my Son price them through the shop he worked at and believe it or not, they were more expensive. I usually need something else anyway so I just get them then.

Thank you, both, for the info. I'd better pick one and get these things soon. Tractor season is almost here! 70 degrees yesterday and snow is almost gone. The mud and standing and running water has a ways to go though. This will be my first time doing all of this seasonal upkeep on the tractor. I used it last summer as it was when I bought it the fall before. All new to me. Ready to get these things done and be comfortable doing it, since right now it seems intimidating.

jeff m ny, thanks, I just looked up where all the IH dealers are in WI, and the closest ones either way, are about 1 1/2 hrs from me. I'm kind of in the middle of nowhere. Probably wouldn't go that far unless I had another reason to go to those towns. There are more dealers on the list than I thought there would be!

No problem. Messicks in PA is another option. Sometimes on other parts, I will look them up on their website, and then just order what I need. Can do that anytime of day. They are very helpful if you call them as well. Shipping isn't usually too bad.
