Always difficult to get in gear,especially when cold.

Is there any linkage ? I find anything that moves can use lubricant to make it move better , whether you are shifting a top loader or a linkage.

IH made a change in the valve that controls main clutch. They installed a different spool that controls the lubrication to the main clutch during clutching. This greatly reduces the amount of oil supplied to the clutch discs and therefore reduces the drag during cold oil situations. Helps a lot and they also changed the lever that pulls spool open for more positive full release.

Couple that with a good lubrication of all the shift linkages should help you and the dealer should have the information you need for parts and installation.
