guys I have a question, put sleeves in tonight and doing check for flange height. the book says flange should be between .001 and .004 above deck height with all heights being with in .002 of each other. now I depth mic cylinders 1-5 and checking between .186 to .188 in each counterbores in different places and cylinder #6 the counterbore was .190 miced the flange on the sleeves and they are all .190 so I did not put any shims under 1-5 and #6 put a .003 and started to check total on all 6. I plan to go thur them all tonight reel good but doing some rough checks looks like I will be with in the .002 for all of them but my flange height looks like it will end up being .005 with feeler gage, will being .001 over on the flange hurt anything? I plan to go with it unless someone thinks it could cause a problem as then I would have to lathe cut some back to use shims.
thanks for any input ahead of time.
