Hey guys got 1964 B414 I got it last year painted it etc runs great only problem with it is powering steering cylinder leaks out the seal facing the seat when looking down there is a carter key there on the end where seal is leaking I have never had a cylinder apart any advice would be appreciated Thanks

There's a LOT going on in that steering "booster cylinder", there's a hydraulic valve, as well as the cylinder.

When reassembling, there's some steps that have to be followed to center the valve, or the steering assist won't work, or will forcefully steer one way or the other by itself.

It would be wise to have the appropriate IH factory service manual in hand before attempting a repair of this.

If you are uncomfortable with doing this type of repair work, you can remove from tractor. Then take to either your local dealer or to a hydraulic shop. Both could reseal it, then pick it up and put back on. Would save the cost of removing.
