Myself i have never seen one and i saw them when they first came out , My old boss bought the first 806 that hit the state of Ohio at the end of Aug. 1963 at the Canfield Fair , to get that tractor for the fair the dealer set two trucks out to the plant and they brought back a 806 and a 706 both diesels wide ft.s , the following weekend my uncle bought the second one to hit the state as it was coming off the truck and by 2 that afternoon it was hooked to the two row John Bean tater harvester and digging spuds. G F Howard's was delivered to his farm at 11:30 P M Labor day evening after the fair officially closed about 8-9 miles west of the fair grounds

I cannot think of any IH Farmall tractor tachometer that read engine rpm's only. Always had PTO rpm's and vehicle speed included with some variation over the years.

Interesting timing as to when the 806's hit the dealers' lots. Dad bought his 4010 diesel a few months prior and said that the 4020's were already on the dealers' lots. The IH dealer did not want to talk anything other than 560's. Probably was not sure when they would see the new tractors. One comment that I heard was that the 806's did not show up locally until Thanksgiving 1963.

Yes, my early 706 has the black tach with RPM's & hour meter only. You don't see them every day. It also has the wrap around fiberglass seat like the 504, clam shell fenders, fh and short cast hyd levers. There was some discussion a while back on the Red Power forum about them.

It was late August of 1963 and saw my first 06 at Steele County Implement in Owatonna MN. It was a diesel and I can clearly remember it had 16.9 x 34 rears. IIRC it had tach with just rpms and a decal with a chart of speeds next to the tach. It was 55 years ago!
