farmall 140

I know the J denotes which of the clutches it has so a mechanic would know which to order before splitting the tractor. My 1970 does not have any other letters on the serial number.

(quoted from post at 06:32:48 03/17/19) just picked up a 140 serial# 63648 JHO any idea what what JHO means ? thanks

Are the letters consistent with the numbers and the "j" ? IH did not use a suffix code of "h' or 'o'. The only suffix letters they used on the serial number plate were 'a', 'b', 'd', 'e', 'j', 'kk', and 'u'. Verify those are correct and look original. It could have been added later or to stand for "highway orange' ?? POST PICTURES

That makes sense as it is orange I thought
it was yellow but my wife says it is orange
hell to be color blind!!

Post some pictures of your tractor!! Here is a restored International 130 that was a highway department tractor owned by the state of Tennessee. Picture from the internet.
