Farmall Super A with 3 point hitch

I am looking at purchasing a Farmall Super A with a 3 point hitch. Did Farmall make the Super A with a 3pt hitch or is this an aftermarket item. How reliable are they for lifting a mower or harrow?

Never heard of a factory built 3 point for a Super A so most likely an after market or home made one. I have built a number of 3 points for tractors I have like my A/C C and my Oliver 77

IH never made a 3 point for an A,etc. I once owned a SA that I 'manufactured' my own three point. It worked well for a blade and other small light 3 point equipment.Dont know about a mower. The offset PTO may cause some issues.

Work Saver made a 3 point hitch for the super A. Also fit the 100 thru 140. I?ve owned a couple of
them. They have a top link connection that fastens with u bolts to the rear rock shaft bar and the top link
is shorter than normal. They use the rear rock shaft for lifting the three point lower arms. You have to
use a cross bar in the three point arms if you need to tow. The lifting capacity is less than 500 lbs. I?m
being generous on that estimate. Don?t plan on using a plow. A small cultivator or lightweight disk will
work ok. I don?t think the pto offset will cause any problem as long as structure on the implement does
not interfere. I used mine with a post hole digger and that worked great because you have down
pressure.

I have 2 IH 140's with after market 3 point hitches. I run a Woods 7 ft rear mower, an IH 1300 Sickle Mower, a 500 lb 16 blade disk, and other lighter attachments with no problem. I have no clearance problems with the PTO shafts and the 3 pt has no problems lifting these loads (It will lift the front wheels off the ground before overloading the hitch). I estimate the hitches are good for at least 600 lbs.
