(quoted from post at 14:22:12 03/03/19) What's every ones opinion on a 674. Good and bad. Found 1 for a decent price with a loader . But it's 400 miles from me.
We had one new in the UK in 1976 I think it was, not sure what the difference is between a UK model than yours
We used it for a number of years without any major issues was a pretty good tractor with a good cab and 78hp.
We then had another one used only as a loader tractor and we still have that old girl she must have loaded 1000's of tons of grain and sugar beet also without any major issues

They were a not bad tractor, though if your going to put a loader on it. The front axles can be a little weak if it is the swept back model. We have a 574 with a loader that dad bought new in 72 and still have and use it. Was pulling wood today with it.
They don't start good in the winter without some heat if a diesel in the northern states.

We have 2 674 gas tractors on our farm. They don't do much, one will usually be on one of the drills in the spring, hooked to a rotary mower, pulling the firewood trailer, or moving wagons. Quite a few years ago we would plow with them when I was a youngster, dad would have rather had me on that with the mounted 3-16 plow than the 1066 that we pulled a semi mounted 5-16 with. One has 14.9-30 tires, and the other has 16.9-30 Tires. If you don't have them weighted down, they have too much power for the amount of tire they have. Both of them have the flanged rear axles instead of the bar type rear axles that some had. I think most with the bar type axles had 38" rear rubber, which would have helped tremendously. The gas tractors are kind of hard on fuel if you're working it much, but that's just how it goes. They shift nicely, have decent hydraulics for a chore tractor, a pretty stout 3 point, and excellent vision from the operators seat. We use the one with the bigger rear tires on it more often, it has 2900 hours, the one with the smaller tires has 1100 hours, but I don't know if we've ever had a handier small tractor.

Bought one with 5000 hrs. Or so back in 2013. No trouble with it other than the battery cables needing replacement a year or so ago. It's now leaking fuel a little in the return line from the injectors. Leaking a bit of oil too. I'll fix those things if and when the weather warms up. They're a heavy tractor and, I think, pretty bulletproof. Hydraulics are good. I run a 4x4 baler with it, a 316 NH baler, and a 1012 NH bale wagon and it's like they're not even there. Mine has 18.4x38 tires. You sit up high and dry on it. Nimble too. Only thing with mine is there's no loader on it so the front end is light. Where I notice that is in the bush. Can only carry half a cord or so on the back carry-all without having to steer with the brakes. I am looking for a loader for it in the hopes of solving that problem. Paid $3500 Canadian for it with an eight foot 3ph disc. May wanna put chains on it if you're using it in winter. Mine is putting out a little bit of blue smoke so one of these days I'll likely take the motor apart, but I'm not in a hurry. Good Luck....
