Negative temperatures last night about 15? now. Went out to the 560 started it ran for five minutes then was moving a little bit of snow all of a sudden no power steering and fast hitch won?t go up and down. Worked fine a week ago when I used it for the same thing. My question is, is there a pressure relief valve somewhere that might be opening because it?s too cold or what should I check. Don?t have a building to put it in so I probably won?t do much more with it today.

Well I checked fluide level in trany and it is full although it defanantly needs changed. And since that feeds hyd system I guess the next thing is the pump.?

I would check filter and screen first. It is on opposite side of tractor as pump. If there was moisture in there it may have crytstals in screen. Tractor has separate pump for PS they are piggy backed together.

On my 560 when filter screen plugs I loose PS first then rest of hydraulics. would bet that is your problem

Hy-Tran is one of the best oil's for absorbing water, but if it's dirty it cant absorb any more H2 O .Time for a little TLC and filter.

I have had hydraulic problems a half a dozen times in 50 years with my 560, it was always the filter.

My 460 acts the same if I don't let it warm up first when sitting in a closed shed. Can take up to 1 hr. Got it out in the minus degree weather now with engine heater pluged in and hyds work ok at start up.
