allways put engine oil in the Hydraulic reservior. MJ
 
Hi, I see your 444 is painted yellow indicating possibly an industrial model. Some of the industrial models had Hytran in both the
hydraulic reservoir and the trans/diff. The trans/diff was used as an extra capacity hydraulic reservoir if there was a back hoe
and an auxiliary hydraulic pump connected to the crankshaft on the front of the tractor.
 

Hey, MJ. Something I just got to thinking about; I dont recall anything in the manual stating to apply any kind of sealant or RTV to the bolt threads for the bearing carrier. Do the bolts themselves make the seal in the case, or should there be something applied to them?
