Farmall m throw out bearing

Upon greasing my throwout bearing from the inspection hole
in the side it seems as if the grease fitting just greases the
barring carrier assembly where it slides on the aluminum
sleeve does this grease fitting actually grease the throwout
bearing itself?

Bearing sleeve or holder has a hole that some grease is supposed to make it to the bearing from the support sleeve. If someone made a good sealed bearing for those it would probably outlast some of us. Never had one completely fail myself though.

I see I hope there?s wasn?t some specific way to install the throw out bearing because I just installed in without paying attention

Well, you had a 50/50 chance so you better be sure it is right.

Well I know I put The part of the bearing that turns toward the
pressure plate but I mean as far as if there was an alignment
hole on the bearing or something?

I don't remember if the replacements have a grease hole or not.

They may be sealed.

Long as the correct side of bearing is forward the bearing can't be installed wrong on the bearing carrier. If you point the grease fitting to window hole in center housing the lube hole on bearing carrier is to bottom. Original bearings get some grease through the hole from grease between the bearing carrier and carrier support tube. Grease does not force into bearing when carrier is greased unless to much is used. Original bearings are open in center between front and back half and bearing carrier hole lines up with opening in bearing.

I was checking that out about five years ago when I put a clutch in my Super C. I think the process of pushing the clutch forces a small amount of grease off the sleeve and into the brg.

They really don't need much anyways unless youre doing a lot of loader work or something that you would need to push the pedal down a good bit. I cant even remember the last time I had to replace one due to it being wore out, except on a Cub.
