504 throttle

Does a 504 have a friction disc under the throttle handle? Any ideas on how to get the handle off of the shaft without breaking something? nut is off, soaked for weeks. Doesn't budge. Not a lot there to pry on.

There's a friction disk, the replacement I got looked like a dense cork gasket. By the time I was done I had to re thread the end of the rod after getting the lever off.

Same problem here...wanted to easily rewire, but nope, throttle makes it rough so I am leaving it alone

I had the same issue awhile ago. I made a puller starting with a Fawcett puller from home depot.
Had to grind the ends to a taper where it slips (with help of a c-clamp) between the friction disc and throttle handle.
Looks like I had to neck down the diameter also.
First time trying to reply and post two pictures.
