Super C running a snowblower?

I have a chance to get a 72" snowblower for cheap.. I can't tell what kind it is,But Boy! Is it ever heavy duty! Anyway,I was wondering if my Super C has enough power to run it.

Power is only the first of your problems. Lack of a live PTO is going to make "inching" into heavy snow impossible, because every time you push the clutch, the snowblower stops!

Ideally you want a tractor with a hydro transmission and a live PTO for snowblower work. A gear drive tractor will work, but live PTO is a must.

If you're thinking, "Idle back to slow down," also remember that idling down also slows down the snowblower and reduces the power output of the engine. The snowblower won't blow as far, if the tractor doesn't stall out from lack of power!

I use a 6' blower on my Farmall 300 and it's a good match, with the TA in low I can go through somewhat deep snow without using the clutch and the IPTO means that if I need to use the clutch the blower keeps going. I take a full bite in light snow under 8-10 inches, heavy snow over 6" or deeper light snow I take a partial bite after the first pass. I would think a Super C would be less than ideal for the reasons stated above, but if you only have small amounts of light snow it might be okay.

Good luck for the reasons stated already. You want more like 50+ horse to run a blower and like already said prefer hydro or really slow reverse.

Like the others said it is not enough HP if you have more than a few inches of light fluffy snow. Wet snow forget it. IMO

Thanks for all of the replies....At first I thought the reverse is too fast...forgot about no live power! I'm going to pass on the blower...I'll stick to using the back blade.

my 2 cents....I think the biggest problem would be having enough front end weights when picking it up...it will have the moxie to pick it up.
If it is a great deal and you can put it to use then I would do it and figure out a way to make it work. So what if you have to bite off small chunks.....It beats shoveling. I don't always have the money at the time the equipment presents itself, but if it is a great deal then jump. Perfect doesn't always present itself

I'd buy it and try it for myself.

I brush hog with my SC in thick 8' weeds, rose thickets and vines and it never falters. Don't worry about the ponies. My 19 never stall out. Adapt and have fun not shoveling.

All depends how fast you want to go, and how deep the snow is. Also wet heavy snow is even worse. This seven foot front mount BER-VAC will sometimes use all the 150 HP this tractor has.

A low gear H might be able to do it cause of how slow it is. But a C would never do it.
Even with a low gear H you would want to go out every 6".
