C146 Oil in Plug Well

I have a 1966 424 with oil in one spark plug well. I was wondering if the C146 has spark plug o-rings? And if so how big of a job are they to replace? I am somewhat mechanically inclined I have just never had the opportunity to open up an engine before. No time like the present I suppose.

I have a 424 of the same vintage . I have no idea what spark plug o-rings are but am fairly certain mine does not have them . I have changed plugs several times . My guess is that your tractor has worn rings and cylinders which is allowing the blow-by . Mine has same problem and runs like a sewing machine . I just check oil level and change plugs when they foul as I do not put many hours on that tractor annually . Just my two cents .

I would also check to be sure that oil is not actually leaking down from a bad valve cover gasket . Mine does that also as those gaskets get hard and brittle and are hard to seal . The obvious fix is a new gasket .

have seen that before , make sure the plugs are tight. they are not o rings they are a sealing washer. do a compression check also. does the engine use oil? short stop and starts do not help the problem as the engine never warms up. cover the rad.
