Read in the post below about the international 15L plow about blue ribbon program tractors. Have not heard of this before would someone please
enlighten me? Thanks, Mike

Memory can be tricky--I think they were trade ins with little hours that were refirbished and probably repainted with a guarantee. they had decals on them indicating this fact to assure/brag about the price point. But I may be missing something here. Jim

The Blue Ribbon Reconditioned Tractor Program began during the Depression in an effort by IHC to bolster slumping new tractor sales with increased service work. Tractors could be brought in during the off season, reconditioned according to program guidelines. The owner paid the bill and received an warranty on the work completed. As Jim indicated it was also used for good trade-ins, resold as program tractors with a warranty. Jim Becker wrote a very informative article in Red Power a couple years ago, even featuring my "Otis" in one of his reference photos. I've never seen another survivor of the program in person, nor has anyone at any of the shows we've attended.

Thank you Jim...I’m awfully fond of him too.

was there a different style decal used? I might have found one but the decal (same spot as yours) is barely there. All I can see is gold and black.

To my knowledge there was only one other style decal used on Blue Ribbon Program Tractors. The original style was used through the late 1930's...

This is the reproduction original, reproduced by Maple Hunter Decals and used on my '34 Farmall 12

There was a gold, red and black decal used on some "Demonstrator" models in 1950. If your Cub falls in the Demo serial number range, it could be remnants of that particular decal.

Interesting, thank you. Anyone have a picture of that demo decal? Pretty sure this tractor was an original unmolested 1952 and not a 1950.
