Under seat battery box?

Hello my question is do a stage 2 super H and a SMTA use the same battery box? I had purchased one of each from OEM tractor parts years ago and when I pulled them out to get the super H one painted to install I realized they are not marked and I don?t see the difference? Are they interchangeable? I have not removed the remnants of the original yet and it has been modified a few times it looks like. The one on the tractor still functions so I was hoping to not remove it until I could replace the old one. Thanks, Mike

both tractor use the same battery so I don't see why the boxes would be different , other than maybe the mounting brackets. likely both the same. you should be able to see mounting on both tractors.

The rear light bracket is on different sides too I think, and the rear "L" shaped brackets are the same but are spot welded on differently.
Been 40 years since I went through all those parts when I had access to all the prints and the computer part routings at Farmall. I was going to make a new battery box for my '54 Super H, but I found a pallet box of them getting sold to an excess and obsolete parts broker in Rock Island and I bought two from them for $5 each. The rear light mounting is fine with me on either side, Dad and I drilled out the spot welds on the rear brackets and bolted them on where they needed to be. The other box was used on his '51 M that sits next to my SH in my shop.

If you set both your battery boxes side by side at the rear of your tractor the differences will be obvious and you will know instantly which one is which.
