In the process of rebuilding the Super A. When I got the transmission opened up to replace seals and check for bearing wear I found a tablespoon or more of aluminum shaving in the transmission and rear differential area. The only aluminum part in the transmission is a 6? diameter oil splasher. The outside diameter surface is very smooth as if it was machined. It turns smoothly on the shaft behind what I think is 1st gear in the bottom backend of transmission area.
When I look at it closer it is suppose to mesh with a gear directly above it that is suppose to drive the oil splasher gear.
So how serious is this?
Are these oil splashers still available?
Where to find?
Rest of the gears and bearings seem to be in very good shape
