450 fast hitch

I am wanting to remove the down pressure on the fast hitch so I can use my blade without digging up the stone. I always thought this was done with the valve that stuck up through the sheet metal to the right of the steering wheel. I tried this and it didn't change anything. The control the runs the hitch is the outside lever which is the one that it's supposed to be. What am I missing.

If this is a newer fast hitch there is a pin that you cab remove down by thew bottom of the cylinder that will allow the cylinder to pivot. I believe it is 5/8 in diameter. Do not take the one inch one out.

Charlieu is right, the valve sticking through the cover does the left lever. You need to get in there and do the left valve for the fast hitch. I forget which way to turn it, just have to try seems like the wrong way will make the lever work backward.

Not quite sure what you are trying to tell me here. Doesn't the hydraulic lever control on the far right work in conjunction with
the piece that sticks up thru the sheet metal that is supposed to determine down pressure. I do have 3 levers. The one on the far
right controls the hitch and the middle controls the loader up and down on the front and the far left(inside) controls the scoop
bucket.

For the new-style Fast hitch like on the 450 or 460, to have the FH to float you pull the pins on each main pull arm of the hitch. You must pull these pins to plow, replace them to tow wagons, Good sized pins, they have a finger grabber loop, other end has a ball so they don't fall out.

Roger has it exactly right - there is a single clevis pin down by the base of the lift cylinder that when installed locks out the vertical float. When using the drawbar this pin should be installed but with almost any mounted implement it should be removed to provide a floating action.

Go with taking the float pin out of the bottom as suggested. The hydraulic system has a check valve block right where hoses go along side of seat to hold the hitch up and it will not work to let hitch down by putting hydraulic valve onto single action to allow float. The check valve requires pressure to unseat it to lower hitch.
