706 battery

Just put the Group 31 in with the studs on top and convert the cables you will thank yourself down the road. Less cable maintenance. Longer lasting battery easier starting with just one battery. We have done this on all our tractors. 806,856,1466,H,2940 Deere Even the Stiegers. the battery is a common one for most semi's.

Yep, I have done the same to 2 656's and an 856. Much easier and less to worry about. No problems so far in 3 years since I have changed them.

The correct answer (for the most available starting amps) is whichever resultant 12 volt combination HAS THE MOST COLD
CRANKING AMPS (CCA).

In series the voltage is additive BUT NOT THE CCA

In parallel voltage does NOT add, however CCA DOES

So do the math and see which combination of 6 (two in series) or 12 volt (one or more in parallel) batteries yields the most
CCA. If you have room for two batteries you could obviously use two sixes in series or two (or just one if you prefer)
twelves in parallel.

Battery boxes for those will only handle the 3EH battery. The 4 EH is the 12 volt version I think. Those are about an inch wider and will not fit in the tray there. If I remember right. That was one of the reasons for going to the truck batteries as well as when I changed them I changed all 4 of them so there was more then one would be good for use elsewhere. You can get the 3's with 1000CCA at zero I believe, for the bigger one, and has plenty of juice for starting all but the stiegers singly. Those need more just to make them turn.

There are 3EH and 3ET 12V batteries that fit. 3EH's are about 500CCA and the 3ET is about 650CCA.

If you're going to do two 12V, run straight from each battery + to the starter, and run separate grounds.

one word NOPE. and no a group 31 does NOT have enough cold cranking amps for colder climents. For best results and LONGER Starter life ya want over 1100 AMPS . But you do as you see fit . and on a 756 you can not use the taller batterys in the factory mounts. If your going with a Group 31 then use two or you can go Group 27 with two . More cold cranking amps are better. Semi's use three and four group 31's , when i bought mine new it came with three , first cold snap taught me a lesson fast that three did not get the job done and i added in the forth.

OK thank you,, now I have another question for tractor vet, On the dump valve for the clutch the one right about the sending unit, it is seeping oil, around shaft, is there a seal or O-ring that seals this ,, Thank you so much, as far as the battery goes I want to keep it as close to original as I can I can put 2 6 volts 3EH batteries in series and get 875 cca , I looked and the one 12 volt 3EE was only 400 CCA,, thank you for your input,, and I am in warmer climate deep south, so no cold starts here,, Thanks again

There is a small seal and a o/ring on the nut . Not a hard fix , i rate it at a one beer . On the battery issure the stock batterys are fine , but i am thinking the ones we have been getting are in the 450 475 CCA' range , might be a local thing here and the ones for the 806 and 1066 are like 525 CCA. . Up here in the sometimes frozen waist land it gets a WEEEEEE bit chilly and since i am not into a multi weight oil sometimes we have to plug in . We use to depend on our gassers for winter but ALL of us have had issues with newer gas tractors of all colors in the past couple years .
