Farmall M w/ Hiesler 9 speed

Does someone have experience with one of these? I need to remove it from the parts tractor and put it in mine. This is Iowa and it's outside and I want to make sure I get it all removed without breaking or forgetting something. Please don't tell me to switch differentials as I've completely gone through the one in the tractor earlier plus the M&W live pto. Thank you.

Get the transmission input shaft, it has to be removed to get other parts. Unbolt input shaft housing at front of transmission housing to remove. Get the top shaft from transmission with gears. May not need the shaft but some models used a different main shaft. Some H did, not sure on the M. Get the lower shaft and gears and reverse idler. Don't require all gears but if good shape they are used to meshing together. If I remember the idler gear shaft is part of the shifting parts. get all other shifting parts. Hope you don't need to use the transmission main shaft because that will be a different gear driving your differential gear. If the tractor is up off the ground all parts can be removed without splitting housings after top cover is off transmission. Would remove top cover and inspect condition of parts needed to start. If okay check price of gears verses the complete transmission housing. Not much value to a savage yard anymore with what ends up left after you remove the 9 speed parts. Could remove parts from rear at your work area if priced near the same complete or not. Hiesler gears will be located at front of shafts and near front.
