Mounting IH 2001 loader on a 460 Utility

Picked up an IH 2001 loader that I want to mount on an IH 460 Utility tractor and need help on how to mount it. The loader came off of a Farmall 400, so I need to make new mounts. Can anyone give any ideas on how to make these mounts?, dimensions, etc. Also how to attach it to the back axle. On the 400, the loader just sat on the front mounts, it was not bolted down. Is this the way is was suppose to be - I would think the loader frame should be bolted to the front mount. Any help and/or pictures of one mounted on a 460 would be greatly appreciated.

I have one on a 504 occasionally. The front doesn't attach, just slides in the side rails and is trapped there. It should have plates to clamp onto the back axle with three long bolts on each, you can see one hanging off the back in this picture.

I have Operators manual and Parts catalog for 2001 loader. They show front mountings for I-460 to be very different to those used on F-400 . Ones used on I-460 are same as on I-504, just bolted in different holes. Rear mountings are somewhat different also. I can scan pages with drawing and photos and e-mail them to you. Also have a loader on I-504 . I can make photos too. Reply if interested.

I would greatly appreciate if you could email me drawings and photos of mounts for the I-460. The frame on my loader is a lot longer on the back than the picture that Tom H sent. I'm thinking maybe the frame even needs to be shortened. I will try to include a photo of my loader - haven't tried to include a photo before so will see if this works. Thanks so much for both replys.

Dan, if it helps I have some pictures of my loader on a 460 but its a row crop, I dont know what the difference would be though. The picture you posted with the long arms look like mine but rather than mounting under the axle like yours, mine has the flat bracket with the triangle back like the picture that Tom has. My front brackets look the same as yours and I dont think they are bolted down.

I tried sending you a message but the site said that feature was down, I could email them to you if you want though.

A friendly tip:

Put some good grit tape on the curved section of the frame so you don't slip and fall on your side when climbing up. Have a 2000 on a 340U that requires me to put a foot right on that curve to get on.

Thank you to everyone for the information. I think I am in good shape now. Weldon K sent me very good pictures and scans of parts book pages that show how the brackets were made for a 460 Utility. I think that will be a good project for winter. Thanks again to everyone.

Could I get those pictures ? I am trying to mount a 2001 to a Farmall 460 with a wide front. Came with no front mounts and I am
unsure of what the height should be on tractor. I have it sitting level where I think it should be, but in the manual pictures, it
looks lower.

You do realize you are answering a post from TEN YEARS AGO, right? The odds of those people still being around on this forum, are pretty slim. Even less likely that they'll be able to find the pictures.

The owner's manual for that loader is easily available online. You can get reprints from several sources, or an original on ebay. Shouldn't cost you more than $20-$30.

The owner's manual has isometric drawings showing the different mounts on various tractors. You can measure these and fabricate your own mounts.
