806 oil pressure gauge

I’m going to put a oil pressure gauge on an 806 with the 301 gas engine. If a 301 engine were in as good of shape as it could possibly be in, what is the maximum oil pressure it will create? Will the 45 psi gauge be sufficient, or should I go with the 75 psi gauge?

I would go with the 75 psi gauge, when starting cold you will get more than 45 psi, may not be good on gauge

Don't those have an oil pressure regulator like the diesel models do? If so it would hold it to about 50 down to about 30. I think the diesel was from 38-55 PSI oil pressure by the regulator.

Use the 75lb oil gauge. The 45lb gauge is used for diesels.

Gauges of all kinds are supposed to run at 2/3
of the average pressure they will encounter.
Pressure when oil is cold will require the
75 lb. gauge.
