Farmall H oil pressure

Al sorts of options Loose cam,rod or main bearings. Also couls be the plate on the oil pump. Depending on the oil you are using. I would start with the oil pump plate to make sure it is not leaking then the clearance in the oil pump. Then on to bearings as the oil pump is easier to start with. Might also change the gage if there is any doubt about the gage.

It is the plate on the bottom of the oil pump. Most likely the gears of the pump have worn deep grooves into that plate. That cover needs to be flat again. I used a big, flat file on mine. Those grooves were DEEP.

a person should give some history of the engine. like has it had work done on it lately. or is it original with a lot of hrs. on it. lots of times the oil pump is overlooked. I am quite sure its more of a worn out engine if its dropping that much. once you get excessive brg. clearance the pump cant keep up with the same pressure running past worn brgs. the faster the oil runs away the less pressure you will have. did you install a master gauge to check pressure , as these tractors have a green section in the gauge and the gauge should be to the end at all times. if your pulling pump then pull a couple rods and look and platigauge, plus there is the mains and cam brgs. which have a big play in the deal. also is the engine burning oil?, do a compession check.read the spark plugs, are they tan colored or all black and oil corroded. lots to check. if you don't want to spend money on it just use 40 wt oil or 20-50 wt oil. to try and help keep the pressure up some. better than using 10-30 oil. I see so many long stories not tractor related , then when advise needed about tractor stuff its a one question deal with no background information. so the answers are it could be this and could be that.
