Water pump on B farmall

Do the water pumps sold on this site work/fit on a B Farmall with a 123 engine? The site says they fit A, B, C. Is there any advantage to installing one. If so, do they bolt on w/o any mods.

Bolt rite on just get longer fanbelt and redo the tightner bracket for the gen it will make the engine run cooler

Farmall B tractors never had water pumps. They were thermosiphon engines, using hot water rises cold water falls as the mover. 123 engines were later put in super A, and SuperA1 tractors as well as SuperC and later tractors. So if a 123 it needs a water pump, and YT pumps would fit. Jim

I put one on my B years ago, and it runs cooler now. Also be aware the head gasket water holes are smaller on pump equipped engines. I put a 160 stat in mine too along with the pump and head gasket at engine overhaul.

Yes, they will bolt right on the lower water inlet. Might need a different belt to drive it.

Well aware that they did not come with pumps, but seeing them advertised and the gasket was the same either with or without. I see from other replies that they will work and improve cooling, I do believe that it would be advantageous to put one on one of mine that I trail ride wth.

Even without a water pump a B should not have cooling problems just puttering around. Heavy work such as running a 6' lawn mower or pulling a plow is where you might see the limits of the cooling.

Simple remedies such as flushing the block and radiator with vinegar may be in order before doing something drastic like adding a water pump.

Quick question. When adding a water pump can you use the unpressurized radiator or do you have to upgrade that also?

Thanks in advance
