1944 H oil filter?

Several months ago Farm and Home was selling out in Creston, Iowa and I bought some oil filters for it at a bargain price. I'm now getting around to using them but the dimensions seem to be just a little off. I wanted to make sure so I got the tape out and took one of them out of the box. I get 7 9/16 in length, 3 1/4 in diameter and the gasket measures 3 13/16 outside diameter. Looking at some filters online it seems that they are supposed to measure 7 1/2 inches in length and 3 7/16 in diameter.

Are these actually 1944 H Farmall filters or am I just overthinking things? They are P150 Luber Finer filters.

Does the gasket/'oring' fit the groove? Does the element fit in the can?Does the center bolt fit the hole?Sometimes those cheap aftermarket filters are a bit off.NAPA numbers are 1172(short filter),or 1125 (tall filter).

According to the lube refiners web site there are 2 filters for the H application 1. P 150 2. P127. They show a S/N break in the application. So there you go.

2 different oil filters were used. Earlier Hs used the tall filter, same as the later Ms. Later Hs used the short filter.

Early Ms used an even larger oil filter.

44 H with no changes should use a overall length filter close to 5-9/16. Early H and a bunch of IH engines used a filter around 7-5/8 or the filter you have.
