Farmall 504 brakes

The clutch pedal on my 504 Farmall row crop is wobbly on its pivot. To repair that, I need to remove the brake drum assembly. If I pull the bolts out and pull the brake actuator off the shaft, will the whole assembly pull off without all the internal pieces...discs, balls etc....falling out? I have it all loosened up and moved out about a quarter inch, just didn't want it to spill everything out when I take it off.
Thanks all.

There should be two discs and the actuator inside that housing. The disc nearest the tractor will usually stay on the pinion shaft. The actuator and the outer disc will normally stay in the housing. The actuator contains the balls and is supposed to be held together by a couple of springs. Sometimes the springs are broken and the balls may fall out. Good luck. Sam

Go and see Steve at Ontario Used Tractor parts in Londesborough ,he will have the pivot assembly and whatever else you need, save rebuilding the old one and may be quicker.

Thanks, but I was able to slide a bushing in. Not perfect, but it's much better, and not likely to wear out too fast.
