I am fixen to paint my 706,, I have a friend who paints for a living an does remarkable work, he paints show cars, he is going to repaint the sheet metal for me and suggested a urethane paint for durability and lasting shine, anyone ever use urethane , suggestions please

You will have one hell of a paint job. It?s a tough paint and expensive. It?s not just the ihc enamel paint. Let him do it as it?s not for beginners plus need proper ppe

Single stage urathane is what I would recommend. To me clear doesn’t look right on a tractor. If it’s a working tractor then maybe polyurethane. It’s a little tougher to chip. I used polyurethane on my pulling tractor and it amazing how well it’s held up.

My Super C is urethane, painted in about 1992.

Urethane is what I consider to be *true* automotive grade paint. It also comes with a significant step up in danger due to it having a lot of isocyanate in it. If you are willing to pay and he has the proper setup to spray it safely, it is a great choice.

Let us know what brand paint and codes you use and post some pics after!

Only way to go. I painted a bunch of tractors and implements starting back in the early 90's. Dad bought all kinds of paint. 2 years ago I painted our cat 307 excavator with urethane from Sherwin Williams. It was an awesome product, and really durable. From now on any tractor or equipment I paint will be with urethane. Definitely worth the money.
