826 international question

Local guy has an 826 with 5500 hours for sale. I guess these had a German diesel. Where these all hydro transmissions? Were these a decent tractor? Don?t know much about them. Thanks.

An 826 could be a hydro or gear drive. Good tractors. Pretty easy on fuel.

I have a Hydro. My neighbor has a gear drive. The gear drive has more power.Both have the D358 German.Germans were/are long lifed good engines.A C301 gas was also available,as well as a propane version as well..Good tractors.The 826 was made to 'compete' with the JD4020. The 756 was too small,the 856 was too big.

Next time you go look at it get the serial number off it. There’s a guy on Red Power that’s looking for a certain number. They are good tractors. If it’s a hydro gas it’s a rare and valuable tractor!

Only caveat is the injector pump is VERY expensive to repair, and some parts are not available anymore. Certain failures turn the tractor into a lawn ornament.
