My 300 has been running ruff. Got some sunny weather do I pulled the valve cover and found #4 cylinder push rod into

I readjusted all the valves to .017h and now she purrrrrrs

It does make a difference. I will venture a guess that a valve got stuck momentarily?

perfect! but why is that adjuster loose?

that's what i found when i took the cover off. i pulled that push rod to see if it was bent and ir was not so i put it back in place, readjusted all the valves to .017H

ok, so the adjuster backed off. that will do it.

i guess but i only paid $200 for her. the plug wires were 1 hole off on the dist.

I had that happen on a Deere A. The compression was OK, the mag had good spark, it was timed right, switching plugs side to side did not change the miss in that cylinder. Finally pulling the valve cover uncovered the problem. I about had my hair pulled out.
