On the bottom of the power steering control valve, there is a check valve. This one has a bad seal. Im looking in the I&T manual but not getting a clear picture of how to get to it. Any suggestions?

Are you talking about the multiple control valve or the pilot valve down by the starter? If the MCV it should come out of the bore. I think like wise on the pilot valve too.
Hard to tell which valve you have with the close up picture.

hats in the Power steering control valve, up by the starter.

I guess I would see if it would push in so I could get some oil on it. Or can you put some air pressure on the back side so it will push out? Be careful about the amount of pressure so it doesn't shoot across the room.
I've never had to do anything other than put an o-ring in one on an 856. This is on several tractors 806 856 1466 and more.

Here's a parts breakdown, if that will help.

Think I have a 706 factory manual (if I can find it) that would likely give some detail on the check valve.

Is this the valve that retains oil in the PS system when the engine stops to allow manual steering (for a short while)?

Thanks everyone for your replies. Looks
like ill have a wrench in one hand and
the book in the other. I kinda figured
it was going to be a bear to deal with.
