Hydraulic seat question.

On the Farmall MD I am restoring I have a hydraulic seat that by first glancing at the parts manual, thought it was a factory unit. I need to rebuild it as the front bushings are gone and the shock absorber is not up to par. Looking closer in the parts book that I have, I see this is not a factory unit. I have attached some pictures of what the factory unit looks like and what I currently have. Would anyone know what the brand is the I have and possibly a parts source for it? Thanks.

Not sure but might be a monroe seat. We just use the rubber bushings for shock absorbers on the seat pivot. For the shock you should be able to match it up with a shock at a parts house.

I have seen a lot of those with the shock on the rear like yours. I always thought that was an earlier version of the Farmall seat. I have mostly seen them
on mid forties tractors!

that is the same seat the Massey 44 Special's have. I am sure its the Monroe seat. not exactly the same but massey has a different pan .

I had one like that once on one of my 560 tractors and I put a air shock on it. at about 2 psig. Rode great. If I wanted it stiffer I added air.

It's a Monrow. factory installed.Monrow supplied a lots of seat assemblys. A lot of tractor brands used them. All 4 of my M-400 have that type of seat. So does my jD 'A',and VAC Case. Massey also used them.Stiener, others offer rubber bushing kits.

You have the long shock, i got mine from
stiener. I think i still have box, can post
part # when i get home tonight if you want.
Might be cheaper at napa. Its a monroe
shock

352587R92 is the IH shock number. Doesn't picture that seat but parts are listed at the same place as your parts picture for tractors serial number 165270 or lower. Watch the serial number breaks for the part numbers in a late parts books with seat pictured in manual. Don't know if on line parts has listed the same, never checked.
