If it is stock there is no load screw . SOOOOOOOO let the fun begin . Leaking / loose intake , heat riser not working , plugged heat riser stove , Ing timing / stuck flyweights , timing set wrong / wrong carb , Someone removed the solenoid and installed a load screw from and older carb and then yes they have it weaned back . They were not meant to be weaned and this can cause more problems . Valve set can be way out and is often over looked as part of a tune up on tractors gas and diesel alike . More then once i have bought tractors that people thought were total rags with oil leaks and blow by and get them home and get looking at them to see if they need hit in the head or do i get some pieces and parts and make it live . when ya pull the valve cover after yo DIG and inch or two of drit mixed with oil due to a valve cover gskt being oil hard and blowen out ya find you could throw a cat between the rocker arms and the end of the valve a good valve adjustment a valve cover gskt and a side cover gskt a bath a complete service and a trip to the field hooked to a set of plows and half a day of running the bag off it and ya got a good tractor. While we were running the gassers each spring when i did the spring service they got there oil changes and filters a tune up and valve adjustment and we got along just fine . Valve adjustment is one of the most over looked service items . even for all the GOAT owners out there how many have had the valves run on there Cummins's Should be done ever 24000 miles . Now on I H gassers other then the old slow turn 4 cylinders they all stumble when cold due to the fact they do not have and accelerator pump and they are updrafts. and when the stove area inside the intake and exhaust manifold get built up with carbon deposit the problem with stumbling gets worse and if the heat riser butterfly is froze up or broken off makes it worse. NOW to fix this ya have to split the intake from the exhaust and 99 times out of a 100 you will scrap out the exhaust manifold . So if you exhaust manifold is cracked nows the time for a new one and fix , clean out the stove area .
