Farmall A with sickle bar

I recently brought home a Farmall A with sickle bar, wheel weights, and take off belt pulley. I do not know much about these other than I do not have a use for it and I wonder what value would it bring if I sold it. I do not have a picture presently but will add soon. I know it has been sitting and will need the motor freed up from being parked. Sheet metal looks great with nice paint. Engine and driveline could use a good bath to start with.

A non-running A (which does not have hydraulics) and an engine that won't turn over makes for both a limited and risky purchase. The sickle bar, as far as I'm concerned, is of limited use. Folks would much rather have a belly mower. Also, how is the tires? Even if it's running, tires are pricey--so much so that I have reverted to buying used tires when I can find them. You'd have trouble getting over $500 for it here. Maybe up to 800 if the rubber is good and you can get the motor to turn over.

I am hoping to get it freed up. It was running when parked and never got touched. It was sitting in a covered shed before my father in law dragged it home. . He lost interest and told me to take it if I wanted otherwise he was giving it away. I have no use for it. I thought I could sell it and put it towards something I could use like a bull dozer or JD 7000 no till planter.

(quoted from post at 19:02:20 12/30/18) Hello, So where are you located? What condition is the sickle bar mower in? How long is the
cutter bar?
Check the pictures I added. I have not looked at it any further.

I would be interested in the sickle bar mower complete if you want to part with it. E-mail is open. Brian

I have a rear mount sickle bar mower for an a. If you can't make a deal with Scott I'd be interested in selling it. I'm in pa.
Thanks

I am not sure that I want to just part it. I think my father in law would like to see it go somewhere complete but he knows I will not be keeping it. I do not know what the tractor or the mower is worth. I have been looking around for comparison but I know it takes a buyer. I guess I was hoping someone wanted the whole thing to restore.

I would think the A, in the condition of yours, with a sickle bar would be sought after. If no one on the IHC site bites, then I'd post pics and start high on the classified page...FB has a Farmall page, check it out.

Remember, you can always come down, you cant go up..."sorry jockeys".

What part of the country are you in? That's a good looking A with a complete-looking mower. If running it could fetch 1500-2500. If it were near me, I'd likely offer $800 for the non-running unit.
