I'm rebuilding the engine on my B and my brother says I'm foolish to do a complete rebuild and not replace the oil pump. So, who's right? I've just never heard of anyone having trouble with the oil pump or reading that it was a necessity to replace. What say ye?

It should be rebuilt but parts are not available. You can lap the bottom plate with very fine sandpaper on a piece of glass. Put in a new gasket also.
How is the oil pressure now?

The oil pump is probably the most troublesome part of an A,B,or C. that's all that was wrong with our C when we bought it, I fixed it for about $5!

This is a complete engine rebuild. However, the tractor was running last year. So, I don't know what kind of pressure it had.

I went all threw that sanding the cover, it helped a little, but after i put in new bearings and cam bushings, i got 50 lbs ideling now. warm! 75 full rpm, had to put on a new gauge!
