53 Super H rear wheel adjustment

I have a 1953 Super H and I need to move the rear wheels inward 1.5? on each side to get it onto my trailer. They were removed for a restoration about 2 years ago so there?s no rust to deal with. Any thoughts about how to move them once the collars are loosened on each side? Would a guy on each side rocking the wheel back and forth move it? Do you need to heat the collars to loosen the bolts. There are 2 wheel weights on the outside of each rim. Thank you in advance.
 
You should just loosen the bolts and like you said, just rock the wheel back and forth. I would spray the axles with penetrating oil 1st. Hope this helps.
 
Loop chain through spokes of wheel you want to move. Hook around stout object. Use bar and twist chain. Walla! Wheel will move as chain shortens. Easy to use moving wheel out. To move wheel in can use nylon strap come a long between tires. Put tension on and wiggle or use 4x4 persuader. Super H wheel not that heavy without fluid and could probably wiggle it in as with tractor jacked gravity is helping.
 
easy way one man can move tire and rim by yourself...after loosening with wheel just barely off the ground take a digging bar as a lever under tire pull up while pushing top of tire in a little at a time
 
Jack each rear wheel off the ground 2 inches, have rear wheel clamp loosened 3/16" to 1/4" at axle, rock top of wheel back & forth, towards and away from you while facing the wheel, foot on bottom of tire/rim, hand on top sidewall of tire. Little PB Blaster, Kroil, or WD-40 helps too.

To widen rear track, set wheels out, My 4-ton bottle jack works on it's side with the piston pump/handle on the lower side, place jack between center hub area of wheel and drawbar clamps around axle carrier. Couple pumps and you can push wheel off end of axle.

LOT better design than the tapered wedge hubs used on there brands that can seize tight on the axle.
 
Our H had fluid in the tires plus 3 sets of wheel weights, so it was a pain to jack up and move the wheels. We found that if you loosened the clamps and drove in circles they would slide on their own. If I remember correctly, if on the inside of the circle it moved in, and on the outside it moved out. No jacking or pry bars needed.
