Farmall M pilot bearing

I am in the process of replacing the clutch on my M. The old pilot bearing was just sitting in the flywheel. It was not a press fit. It has the the two locking tabs that lock the flywheel bolts that will keep it from falling out. I have never seen a pilot bearing that is not pressed in. Is this normal? The new bearing fits the same way. The old bearing does not look like it was spinning around in the flywheel. No evidence on the bearing or the flywheel. It appears the bearing is original. It is an IHC bearing and the locking tabs have only been bent over once. Thanks

The last one i did too, it seemed to loose,in fact i bought and checked every brand i could, to find a big one, never did find one that ft right!

This bearing seems to fit snug but both the old and new ones I am able to slip them in and out by hand very easily. Every other one I've ever done always required a puller to remove and a driver and hammer to reinstall. Thanks for the replies so far.

Pretty much normal. Don't worry about it.
