Hello My son has accidentally put 10 w 30 in the HYD fluid tank. Is this harmful to the tractor. can i just drain it and put the HYD fluid in or can i just leave it. He put 5 gallons in and i need another 5 Gallons. of hyd fluid.

My opinion - drain it and put proper fluid in it. I do not think the small amount that remains after draining will matter . Hydraulic fluid is mostly
approximately 20 weight oil with additives according to those Ive talked to . Just my two cents ---

Hi, the 10W30 oil will not damage the hydraulics in that tractor but you could have issues with the brakes and power steering
afterwards. My brother has a 454(same hydraulic system), several years ago he bought a wood splitter at a farm auction and shortly
after he used the wood splitter on the 454 he started to have intermittent PS and PB problem caused by the oil that had been in
the wood splitter cylinder. The detergent oil will foam and cause air bubbles in hydraulic system. I would do as other poster said
drain and replace with Hytran.
