M - Best Piston/Cylinder Supplier

I think I am going to break down and get a new set as finding a matching piston or set + new rings + running my old sleeves and pins isn't worth all the trouble I have put into it and would only save me a little money. Where is the best place to get 4" high stepped cylinders and pistons that drop into a stock M?

That was my first choice but I have heard that they are TISCO parts and at least a couple people have said there are better ones out there...

Therr is no "best" s&p set. This site sells good parts.I'm not sure you can even buy a 3 7/8 piston set anymore. AFAIK,4" is the standard size these days.A 4" piston will give an M 264 CI,the same as a SuperM and 400.

If interested I have a NOS (still in the IHC box) Firecrater complete set of everything (pistons, sleeves, rings, etc. along with the carb and distributor modification items) that I purchased at a RPRU to up-grade my 1951 Farmall M several years ago. Took the cylinder head off and found the tractor had already been converted with the step-head Firecrater package at some time in it's prior life. I bought the tractor from the original owner's family and was never told it already had the Firecrater conversion done at some point so just left the engine alone except for a valve grind. If interested my email is open and I live in Missouri, Hal.
