Farmall Cub runs and then stalls

My 1967 International cub will run for about 2-3 minutes smooth as silk and then it just dies. I can start it back up and it will start right back up. I have replaced the coil and condenser. I have put Heet in the gas tank because there was water in the tank from sitting. Drained the tank and put new non ethanol gas in. The carb has been rebuilt. When it dies, I check the carb bowl and gas runs out steady. I need some ideas on what the problem could be. Please forgive me if I duplicated this topic. I am new to this very helpful site.

When you pull the plug in the carb and gas runs out how long do you do that for. If your tractor runs 2-3 minutes I would run the gas for that long to be sure there is gas going to the carb all the time. To trouble shoot the issue you need to be able to start ruling things out and in my opinion this would be the first thing to be sure of and rule out. I would also try running the tractor with the gas cap loose - could be the vent in the cap is plugged and after a few minutes you are pulling on a vacuum. Do you have an inline filter on the gas line. If so that could be a problem also.

There are 2 or more types of in line filters and ones made for a car or truck are made for systems with a fuel pump with 7 plus PSI and your cub is a gravity flow system. Then you have ones made for a lawn mower or motorcycle and those many times use a small hose which slows the flow down to slow so again cause problems.

So can you recommend a filter?

Are sure that there is not something in the tank that could float over and cut off the gas flow from the tank and float off when the cub quits.Randy
