Have a chance to aquire a F20 for cheap. I
know there is no way of knowing engine
damage, but It has sat out for 15 years, i
see no busts on the block etc, but the
manifold is busted and i know its been
rained in with the manifold in that shape.
It did have a can on it but still.. I
opened one of the oil petcocks on the oil
pan and about a quart of water ran out
before turning into oil. Opinion only -
does this engine sound like it might be too
far gone to fool with?

Try turning it over with the crank. I would assume that it is probably stuck. F20 engines aren't real hard to find, if you need one.

take the inspection covers off and look in the crankcase, if the crank and rods are rusty, it's probably toast, but if not it may be able to be saved. Probably stuck, but don't let that stop you, usually only 1 nor 2 cylinders get water in. Look it over, fuel tank and radiator, wheels...parts aren't too hard to come by with a few exceptions.

What are you trying to do: (1) get a F-20 or (1) restore a tractor? Yes, running F-20s are common at reasonable costs but this one looks like a challenge!
Looks like someone tried to lift it with a fork-lift and did some damage. However, the rusted-out fuel tank is not encouraging.

Theres no such thing as a F20 motor that cant be freed up,Remove head clean pistons soak cylinders even hit on top of pistons.Ive even used a steel disc on top of piston while hitting it with a large sledge hammer, never hurt one yet.Ive done at least 20 of them
