I'm planning to go to the 2019 Red Power Roundup and I was wondering from you guys that have been to one how far in advance does one need to reserve a hotel. I'm assuming they all fill up but how soon. I'm thinking of getting one within about 10 miles of the site if possible.

Why not stay where the convention is being held, then you can walk to the convention floor,
that way if you pick something up from on the the vendor's you can take it back to the room, and never go outside, leave the car sit in their parking lot. The sooner you sign up for the tour's the better, because the host of the tour maybe only let's in 25, or two groups of thrity people,so the sooner the better there! Sign up now, and maybe it's cheaper! Have fun.

Bloomsburg is not a big town so there may not be alot of lodging close by, closet towns with decent lodging will be Sellings Grove or Williamsport. Reserve early!

Go into red power roundup 2019 and click lodging. There are about 40 to choose from, ten within 5 miles. I would plan it now then you know you have it done, I would imagine it'll fill up fast. We are planning on lodging this time for it, there is just too much to see for one day. Last time we were there it was an incredible experience, and I definitely want to spend more time there this time.
The wife made our reservations about 6 weeks ago. To get a reasonable rate we had to go about 10 miles away. To me the extra miles for a few nights was worth the cost savings. That way we can also see more of the local landscape and businesses. This time I want to take more of the tours offered. The one to the old IH prototype building should be interesting and bring back memories.

usually, getting rooms sooner than later is preferable. I already have my room reserved, about 12 miles away. we saved some $$$ by going through New York Farm Bureau's member connection with Choice Hotels.
If you have nerves of steel, there are usually rooms, close in, that free up a couple weeks before the RPRUs, due to cancellations. get on a waiting list for a particular hotel(s) if you go that route.
