Farmall rim paint

Ok all, What are some of you using for the silver rim paint ? Got a new set of rims for my 53 Super H, guy got them for his JD, painted
them yellow, & not well, thin spots, but then went to a wider rim, tires were put on, & taken right off, rim was never mounted to the
wheel. So what silver are some of you using ?, don't really like the bright aluminum paint, has anyone used the silver that Ford used on
their pick ups sorta spoked wheels, think it was called Argent silver or such ? Thanks for any & all responses, pics if you have ?

Rustoleum Hammered Aluminum, with all my runs drips and errors, it looks just like galvanizing.

Silver or Argent from your local CaseIH dealer. Some of the dealers will have it in quart and aerosol spray cans. Krylon 1403 is a very, very close match. Only the most educated eyes would be able to tell the difference. And it is lots cheaper than the silver argent from the CaseIH dealer. Don't ask how I know.

Agreed on the rustoleum aluminum.

I think it looks just right - nice and bright and clean.

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, it's pretty much what a dealer would have used to paint the rims when sprucing up a used tractor. Otherwise they'd just be plain galvanized steel from the factory.

Cheap and easy.

As stated Rustoleum Hammered Aluminum.

OK, not an answer to your paint question.
I had my rims sandblasted and hot dip galvanized. No more rust, no chipping and highly scratch resistant. It looks good although probably different from the original electroplating finish.

Repainted an H 25 years ago. When I did, I looked around and found the right color. Had to replace one rim recently. Didnt think I needed to be to paticular since painting only one rim, and not the whole tractor this time. The rest of the old paint job on tractor is not looking all that good anymore. I just picked out a silver color that I thought looked close. It turned out ok. Not sure why you couldn't do the same even if painting both rims.

Back when IH was doing the repaint programs, the rims were painted with common, ordinary aluminum. Usually done with a brush.
