F-14 stubborn crankshaft

I am working on a badly stuck F-14 engine (essentially the same engine as most F-12s) and I, with MUCH effort, have gotten 3 of the 4 pistons out so far. The crankshaft will only turn a tiny bit, and is in the way for removing the 4th piston. Any guesses as to what is mostly keeping the crankshaft from turning normally?

I had the same issue. My F12 had one piston seized at bottom dead centre, so the only way to remove it was to take the crankshaft out first. It saved a deal of trouble and was worth the effort as the crankshaft had to be ground down to .010" undersize due to wear.

Thanks for the advice. I took the cam shaft gear off the front. The crankshaft was still fairly stiff, but it would turn, and I was able to pound the last piston out. Next task it to try and get the old sleeve out.
