pistons are stepped head and dont have arrow pointing towards front...does it matter which way they are facing.........thanks dewy

Yes, there might not be clearance for them in the head. Did the engine have them in before. ,You could go by the numbers stamped on the connecting rod by the crank end usually go towards the cam shaft.

check the head as they can only go one way

As stated, the dome should fit up into the valve cavity.

I was commenting that if the old pistons were still on the connecting rod it would show the direction of the piston if it had domes. Sorry my bad for confusing you.
